Women of Real Estate cohort with their instructor Dajuan Robinson of DNA Construction and Consulting.

Chicago, IL- March 23, 2024- C3 Impact Fund, a certified community development financial institution, is proud to unveil the Women in Real Estate Mentorship Program, a groundbreaking initiative designed to empower women in the challenging terrain of real estate investing.
This program is born from C3’s commitment to: Catalyzing development in historically disinvested neighborhoods, Creating quality local jobs, and Closing the racial and gender wealth gap through real estate. The dedication to these goals lays the foundation to ensure that women play a pivotal role in every step of this transformative journey for our communities. “The Women in Real Estate Mentorship Program is more than just a workshop,” says Tiffany Taylor, Executive Director of C3, “it’s our commitment to creating a level playing field for women. By equipping them with the right tools and networks, we’re building opportunities, not just buildings, and creating a future where everyone has a stake.”

Thanks to a generous sponsor, ten women were selected from a competitive application pool. Each participant will gain access to a seasoned investor providing guidance through the intricate nuances of the real estate world. Programming includes hands-on property visits, bi-weekly virtual discussions, and access to advisors to discuss wealth management and tax-saving
strategies for real estate investors. “We wanted to be intentional about not just creating another training program,” says Aloni Harris, Loan Officer of C3, “in addition, we will provide them with access to capital to fund their next deal coupled with resources to help them manage their capital gains.”

Since its inception, C3 has originated $50MM in loans which has generated 470 units of housing in low to moderate-income communities. Zena Dixon, a participant in the cohort, says, “While most women investors, including myself, have sought and pieced together education, we often shy away from asking a lot of questions and lack a space to speak freely about our challenges. I’m excited to be in a community dedicated to women with a shared vision taught by actual practitioners!”

C3’s comprehensive approach ensures every participant will possess the necessary industry knowledge and skills to fuel the confidence needed to execute their next real estate project masterfully. “It’s unfortunate how many women are often taken advantage of in this space,” says Dajuan Robinson, CEO of DNA Construction & Construction. “I receive daily calls from women looking for my assistance after encountering a bad contractor. I created the Real in Rehab Mentorship program to inform their decisions as they evaluate, negotiate, and manage their real estate business.” Together, the organizations will create lasting change and pave the way for a new generation of female leaders in the industry.
